About Arturo Meza

Arturo is a Foreign-Trained Attorney at Basswood Counsel. With over 10 years of experience, he currently focuses on International Taxation and cross-border transactions. 

Before joining Basswood Counsel, Arturo served in the Office of Legal Affairs at the Embassy of Mexico in the United States for over 4 years, gaining invaluable insights into international legal and diplomatic matters. 

Arturo’s legal career began in Mexico, where he clerked for Chief Justice Juan N. Silva at the Mexican Supreme Court. During his tenure, he contributed to courtroom proceedings and assisted in drafting orders and opinions on various legal matters, including tax and commerce law.

Additionally, Arturo clerked for Judge Clementina Flores Suárez at the Federal Court of Appeals in Administrative Law Matters for the First Circuit (Mexico City), honing his expertise in administrative and tax law.

Arturo is passionate about sports and enjoys playing football and chess whenever he finds an opportunity.

He lives in Bethesda, Maryland with his wife and children.
